To have a goal you need to have a vision. The vision is the big picture of what you want to achieve and it will be your inspiration. When the going gets tough, when your motivation is flagging your vision will spur you on.
Four years of training, preparation and anticipation to reach the Olympics. Somewhere it began with a thought, a dream, a wish. A child or adult discovered a talent or was encouraged by a parent or emulated a sportsman/woman they admired. This idea needed to be tested out. Could they learn this sport? Could they make the team? Were they prepared to show up for practice, get up early, go home later or train when others were having fun? What did they forego? What was the reason behind it all?
Resilience Or How High Do You Bounce?
The cultivation of resilience is being considered as a protective factor in the face of workplace stress or life situations. It can be defined as our ability to bend under a stressful force and not break. If we compare ourselves to a rubber ball, it would be our ability to bounce back. The Oxford online dictionary describes it as ” The capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; the ability of a substance or object to spring back into shape.”
Change, Love It Or Hate It?
Change can be a wonderful thing. It can bring novelty, adventure and excitement into our lives. The changing of the seasons brings fresh experiences and challenges. Most often change is enjoyed when we are the ones initiating it. There is the fun of planning a project whether that is redecorating, booking a holiday or taking a new class or course. We have the ability to dream, to plan, to put something in motion and bring it to completion. It’s satisfying when it has come to fruition.
